Cookie Policy

This page explains what cookies are, which ones the Heirloom Atlas website uses, and how you can manage them. We have tried to write this in plain language. If something is unclear, please write to us at [email protected].
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website saves to your browser when you visit. They are not programmes and cannot run code on your device. They are used to remember things — such as whether you have already seen a notice, or which page you came from — so the website can work more smoothly on your next visit.
This website also uses localStorage, a similar browser storage mechanism, to save your cookie preferences. Unlike cookies, localStorage data is not sent to our server with each request — it stays in your browser.
Cookie types we use
Essential cookies
Always active — required for the website to function.
- cookieConsent (localStorage) — stores your cookie preference so you are not asked again. Duration: until you clear browser storage.
Analytics cookies
Help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
- Google Analytics (_ga, _gid) — records pages visited, time on site and referring source. Data is anonymised; no personal identifiers are sent. Duration: up to 2 years.
Marketing cookies
Used to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.
- Google Ads / Facebook Pixel — records whether you visited the site after seeing an advertisement. Duration: up to 90 days.
- Bing UET — similar conversion measurement for Bing advertising. Duration: up to 180 days.
Preference cookies
Remember settings you have chosen during your visit.
- Currently limited to language and region settings where applicable. Duration: up to 1 year.
